the weekly question
faith or fear?
The Lord knows the battle is won & lost in our mind, which is why His Word speaks strongly into this area of our life. If we allow the spirit of fear to have free reign, we’ll conform to the broken thinking of this world & crumble. If we keep our faith firmly in Jesus, we will have “eyes to see” the many distractions that try to undermine His Presence in our life. And ultimately, if we’ll walk according to His Truth, we will live a life of ongoing transformation & triumph (Romans 12:2).
“The Lord has given me a strong warning not to think like everyone else does. He said, “Don’t call everything a conspiracy, like they do, and don’t live in dread of what frightens them. Make the Lord of Heaven’s Armies holy in your life. He is the one you should fear. He is the one who should make you tremble. He will keep you safe…”

the weekly Consideration
God wants to lead every one of us along His perfect path, but that means we have to trust Him to do so. This degree of faith goes against the grain of our insatiable desire for control, so in order to silence this voice, we have to walk in ongoing surrender to God’s Spirit. As Jesus made clear, “the person who truly sees” doesn’t walk by sight alone, but by faith in the One who sees it all.
Lord, help us recognize our own blindness & inability to see clearly apart from You. Enable us to understand what You’re saying today, and to move forward in all that You lead us to do.
“Your own ears will hear him. Right behind you a voice will say, “This is the way you should go,” whether to the right or to the left.”

the weekly challenge
When Jesus told us to “keep His Kingdom first” (Matthew 6:33), He challenged the very framework of what’s considered most important in life. Jesus' words brought confirmation to the revelation of God’s promise to replace the failing kingdoms of this world with the unfailing Kingdom of The Father (Hebrews 12:26). In light of this reality, what should our response be?
We should strip off anything weighing us down from this world system (including our sin), so we can run our race of faith with endurance (Hebrews 12:1). “Our feet should be fitted with the Good News of Peace with God” (Ephesians 6:15), which protects us from attacks by the enemy & positions us for God’s opportunities. And with awe-filled adoration & sincere thanks, we should give our lives to God as an ongoing act of worship (Hebrews 12:28).
“When God spoke from Mount Sinai his voice shook the earth, but now he makes another promise: “Once again I will shake not only the earth but the heavens also.” This means that all of creation will be shaken and removed, so that only unshakable things will remain.
Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping him with holy fear and awe. For our God is a devouring fire.”
